Compact board( also named Solid Grade laminate) composed of overlayer,decorative paper and mutiple layers of Kraft paper impregnated with resin.Decorative paper is digital printed with any designs you prefer.Extra layers of kraft paper provide panel high shock-resistance,anti-moisture and fire-retardancy features,which makes itself perfectly suitable in high-traffic,hygienic-required or harsh environment areas,such washroom,hospital and labs.

2. Other paper preparation
compact HPL consists of overlay paper, kraft paper and backer sheet besides decor paper.
we chose qualified over layer to maintain anti-abrasion with keeping high resolution of decor paper back sheet balance the board to keep flat.back sheet would be black or white usually.
Compact boasts of its high performance because of extra layers of Kraft paper .The thickness of Kraft paper could be up to 24mm. High density composition ensures its endurance and anti-crack performance from exterior.Kraft paper would be dark brown or black normally.
3. Lamination begins!
Stacking all paper together in laminator at pressures approximately 1200 lbs. per square inch at temperatures not exceeding 300°F (148°C). We offer more than 30 standard surface finishing ,such as matte, satin ,gloss, embossed.
4. Finishing
panels are cut and finished with carbide-tipped in milling machine to any size and shape required,such as internal cut-outs or embossing layers.Laminate edges should be trimmed smooth to minimize chipping risk.Corners should be finished smooth or as client request.The back sheet is attached for maintaining balance and the backside is sanded for most application to facilitate bonding.

Core colors could be kraft paper in brown,black and white,even the combination of these colors.

Compact board could be used without edge banded.
3)Could compact board be self-supported?
Yes,compact board ranges from 5mm-50mm in thickness,which are adequate to eliminate the use of susbtrate,and is useful where flat,freestanding panels are needed for decorative purposes.
4)What are the corner treatment of compact board?
1/8″ bevel,1/4″ radius and straight edge are available.
5)How to clean and maintain compact board?
It may be cleaned with a damp cloth and ordinary soap or household
liquid detergent. Abrasive cleaners or cleaners containing five percent or more of chlorine bleach solution should not be used. Stubborn stains may require use of organic solvents such as alcohol, acetone, (MEK)- lacquer thinner,or paint solvent.
6)What are common thickness of compact board?
2.2mm-9mm
could be used signages in some harsh environment or being double-sided.backer paper needed and edge band required to be smoth and polish.If the panel covers more than 12″*12″, a backer sheet is required.
12.5mm-19.5mm
common thickenss for outdoor signage for its self-supporting features.It could be fitted with threaded inserts and mounting hardware could be easily concealed.
19.5mm and thicker
commom choice for free-standing panels in most wild or even harsh environment.
